iCARDIAC APPOINTS THREE NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Also Promotes Its CEO, Mikael Totterman, to Chairman of the Board
Rochester, NY – February 15, 2007 – iCardiac Technologies, Inc., a leader in the development and implementation of biomarkers and technologies for assessing the cardiac safety of pharmaceutical products, announced today that it has added three new members to its Board of Directors. Additionally, the University of Rochester Medical Center spin-off company announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Mikael Totterman, has been promoted and is taking on the additional role as the company’s Chairman of the Board.
Joining the Board of Directors are:
Mr. Anik Bose. Mr. Bose, who is currently the CEO and Founder of San Francisco-based Lotus Management Consulting, Inc., is an experienced technology executive and venture capitalist. His experience includes running a $250 million corporate venture fund, leading an $885 million corporate acquisition in Asia for 3Com, architecting the launch of a networking company that achieved $700 million in revenues within three years, and developing global growth strategies for Monsanto to accelerate returns on its multi-billion dollar biotech acquisitions. Mr. Bose holds an MBA from Boston College.
Mr. David E. Williams. Mr. Williams is the co-founder of MedPharma Partners, a Boston-based health care strategy consulting company serving pharmaceutical, medical device and health care services clients. He is an experienced strategy consultant and spent ten years with the health care practice group of the Boston Consulting Group and LEK Consulting. Mr. Williams also serves as Chairman of the Board of a medical risk management company. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. J. Montieth “Monty” Estes. Mr. Estes is the Managing Partner of the Rochester office of Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel LLP, where he also heads the firm’s intellectual property practice group. His distinguished legal career has focused on serving emerging technology companies through their funding and growth phases. Mr. Estes has also served on the executive management teams of several successful technology companies, including as Chairman and CEO. He holds a graduate engineering degree from Cornell University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
With the addition of three new directors, iCardiac Technologies has completed its seven-person Board of Directors. The other Directors are Mikael Totterman, Alex Zapesochny, José J. Coronas and Timothy G. Cockshutt. The new directors will serve one year terms and need to be re-elected annually by the shareholders.
The company’s new Chairman, Mikael Totterman, is also a co-founder of iCardiac Technologies. He was previously a venture capitalist, strategy consultant and biotechnology executive. He holds an engineering degree from Stanford and an MBA from Dartmouth.
